Spider Silk Producing, Genetically Engineered Silkworms

Since the discovery of its incredible properties, spider silk has been one of the most sought after materials of our generation. The strength of spider silk has been compared to high grade steel, half the strength of Kevlar and extremely light in weight. Although it's at a high demand, it has been proven that spider silk is naturally impossible to mass produce. When things don't work out naturally, what do we do? Yes, we use recombinant DNA. The process of recombinant DNA is known as "piggyBac." In layman's terms, this all means you put a little bit of a into b and get a form of ab. When all this is applied to silkworms, you now get a silkworm which produces a hybrid of worm silk and spider silk. When you think about it...they kind of Weapon X'd these worms.

Americana: Brooklyn Invitational 2010

Apple pie...is that what we compare ourselves to? Don't get me wrong it taste good but, besides a bakery, your grandmother, and The Food Network who really knows how to cook now a days (that's another post)? Do you even know the history behind the apple pie? What I'm trying to get across is that it's 2010 and as Americans we deserve another slogan. As of right now...I can't think of one but, I hold before you the subject and inspiration. I present to you the motorcycle. For some, America may have never been the home of the free. One solution to the masking the binds in your life is riding. Your our worries seem to whiff by when your going over 80 on two wheels. Besides, what's more American then a chopped up Harley, a leather jacket and a free mind (as I grunt in my best Tim Allen impression). There's something so beautiful about a rat. I'm not talking about the back of the subway platform New York City rat. I'm talking about the weathered, chopped up, nostalgic bike rat. Hanging at the 2010 Brooklyn Invitational in Greenpoint really rekindled my love for motorcycles. Here is some pictures I captured. Enjoy!

Vernissage TV Interviews Takashi Murakami

The contrast between the French sculptures at the Château de Versailles and Takashi Murakami’s work is surreal! This is very similar to the direction of modern architecture in metropolitan areas. For instance, through out New York City the selvaged decor or interior walls are in some way incorporated into the revamping of pre-war buildings. This the wave of future design if our history maintains it's value.

Video: The Narcicyst ft. Shadia Mansour – Hamdulillah

Regardless of who we are, morally as individuals I believe we have the responsibility to simply make an effort to understand, respect and interact with one another. Unfortunately for most, it's easier said then done. As a result of, we are now faced with a never ending rotation of disruption and mending. This video simply catches the beauty and sincerity of people, regardless of what they believe in. Look out for some familiar faces in this video. Anyway...besides the preachy stuff, The Narcicyst is sick wit it! He's Canadian by the way...have to put that out there for all my Canadian homies.

Video: David Choe x Machete (The Movie)

I have yet to see Machete and I'm not going to lie I had doubts at first but, now I cant wait to see it. I'm hearing It has an immigration sub theme...interesting. It's just one of those films that reeks of cult classic. David Choe is one of my favorite current artist and knowing of this collab blows my mind. Its not common that anybody with a commercial objective will work with David Choe...for good reasons. Watch the video and check out the direction he went with Machete.
